    This is good news....i have received 2 damaged quilts and wanted to save them for their owner's children. Now i will research this method....again, thanks for the info!

    You have one awesome find. Those look like vintage feedsack materials. Might be worth your time and expense to have this quilt appraised. That might help in the decision on how to repair / replace the damaged spots.
