You go girl! I obtained one under different circumstances and then felt so guilty that I had to let them know it was an antique probably from the 1940's. I still have it, with the promise to return it to the family upon my death. Am putting a history on the back of it. :-o

did you find out the history of the quilt maker and the quilt so you can put that on the back with all the other information you will add. Hand quilting is about the best and easiest to do with that quilt.
you are all lucky living in a country where quilting is nearly second nature and can be found almost any where. We are not so here in Australia, but we are getting there slowly.

in those days katiebear1we didn't know how simple they were to put together. It took me longer to do mine for my sampler quilt which i sit on in my lounge chair( need to repair it one day) Got the covering fabric, not the inclination or time to do it yet. Maybe when it is warmer.

You really got a bargain. Looking at that makes me want to hurry up and get all my quilt tops quilted and my fabric sewn. I'm pretty sure that if I have any fabric left when I die that the garage sale for my fabric will be a giveaway like that. I'm guessing that someone had no idea that they could just take it to a quilter and they would have an heirloom! I'm glad it found a nice home.
