I love the plaids. It could make nice rag quilts too. (easy to sew and the quilting is done as you go)
Bless you and your family in helping others. There are so many homeless due to loss of jobs, homes and our servicemen who went to Irac.

Lisa, what a great and thoughtful project. Your girls are absolutely adorable and it's obvious they're very involved. Such a neat idea!

Sounds like a lot of people are going to be blessed. No more so than your family.

Oh, my, what a wonderful superfantastic surprise!!!! Thank you my baby girls and dear friend for thinking and remembering my Roy with your grandpa! Love you all three!!! I will keep my eyes open for more polyester at yard sales, that does make the warmest quilts and it is a wonderful thing for those that don't have.
Hugs to all three of you!!!

Boy, that sure does look like a lot of fun with squares everywhere!!
Sorting, matching and deciding are fabulous activities and the girls will remember doing this forever. You are not just making warm items, you're making warm memories.
My DH just came back from the USA and he was shocked at how many and how visible needy people seemed to be everywhere. We keep hearing about need, but it doesn't actually hit home unless it's in your face, I guess. I love your description of the man who started this whole idea for you.

Thanks everyone. We keep having fun with this project.

Sharon...you and "Uncle" Roy are so very precious to us. Great big hugs back at ya, the girls and I love ya so. I'm sure that Uncle Roy and Grandpa are grinning from ear to ear at these girls right about now. I'm so very glad the opportunity to do this came about. We're not going to label each and every blanket, but we're working on a card (hand done of course) to dedicate them to Dad and Roy's memory. We'll present it to the staff along with the blankets as soon as we get them done.

What a wonderful project. It sounds like it was meant to be. You, your mom, and the girls are doing such a meaningful thing. Blessings and hugs to each of you.
