Many people use the Clover yo-yo maker, but I just stack a bunch of fabrics and cut out circles. I turn under about 1/4 in. and take a running stitch with a good size needle and double hand quilting thread with a fairly large knot on the end. When getting to the end, pull the thread tight to gather it all to the middle. I take several small stitches on top of each other to secure the thread and end by running the needle inside the yo-yo and outside the edge. Then clip the thread, the tail stays inside the yo-yo.

My yo-yos are about 1 1/2 inches across. I have a small round tin that is 4" across, I used the lid of that to draw my circles by. Fom a 1/4 yd of fabric you can get about 20 yo-yos.

I made some yo-yos to put a scalloped edge on some window valances, they were about 2 3/4 in. across and I used a 6" saucer for the pattern. That size or maybe one using a 5" circle is more to my liking.

OK! Sounds a little too advanced for me. I am a visual learner. Maybe someday I can give this a try! Thanks for answering!

Absolutely beautiful! I don't know if I'd have the patience to do all those yo-yos! Thanks for posting the picture!
