Love your little project! I finished my son's quilt in the car when we were on a family vacation in the 80s. I had had it on a borrowed frame in the family room for months, but never could sit down long enough to get anything done. When a friend told me she quilted using a big hoop (portable), it all clicked for me, and when confined to the car, it was so satisfying to get that darn thing done! So now I always take some handwork on trips - Both my Dhs (#1 and #2)are men who HAVE to DRIVE, so I rarely take the wheel, which works out for us all!

I have had what I call "car quilts" going ever since we moved 1,000 miles away from our old home and It may take me a long time to do the projects but I don't care. Like you said it makes the time go by and it's break from reading. I make up little kits of fabric and I'm always overly optimistic and never get half of what I take accomplished but the thought of having nothings to sew makes me do it. Currently I'm working on a cathedral window, I make a grid of 16 squares and machine sew them together and then take the little squares to place in the centers with me. I'll put them all together some year and I'll have a quilt.

Brooke, you could use freezer paper to make your own hexagons, or so I hear, but I decided to purchase my paper hexagons as I am short on time. Got mine from this eBay seller http://cgi.ebay.com/500-Die-Cut-Hexa...ht_3380wt_1141
    A great service BTW.
When searching I also found this site http://www.paperpieces.com/ that has all kind os papers for EPP.

BTW how'd you get away with the scissors on a plane?
    Hi Dawn,
The scissors have a blunt rounded tip...allowed by TSA. They won't allow the ones with sharp tip though,.I had to buy these specifically for flying. And BTW, it is easy...give it a go

Congratulations on trying again. thats how we grow. Such great satisfaction when something we don't like works out. Keep up the good work!
