You all won't believe what I started...a HAND SEWING project
#41
Cool. I to have to have something to do with my hands if I am not the driver, or just sitting & watching tv. I too have just traced a bunch of hexs on wax paper & have them cut out. Also just finished tracing hexs on scrap fabric & ready to cut. They are in a small storage case so I can take with to work on.
Keep going & be sure to post a photo later & or when done.

I love making hexagons and work on them everywhere. I just bought "Quilts from Grandmother's Garden" by Jaynette Huff that has some really neat quilts to hex and applique.
Have fun with your hand sewing project.

GFG is also my take along project. Sometimes I write dates and places onto the papers. It's interesting to look through to see where it's been. I'm getting ready to fly in Nov so I'll have to find a TSA approved thread cutter.

I have been doing these flowers too, then attaching them to individual squares, around 5in size. Plan to make a lap quilt with them eventually, unless I change my mind & use them otherwise. Saw one at store here, a guild type store & loved it! Thought, I can do that, so I am. They are great to travel with too! DH & I drove clear from NC to CA & back, this time last year, pulling a camp trailer & staying at KOAs along the way & having these to do really helped! I recently started working on more again. Making each one different & love them! Good luck with yours & show us some updates too! (I think my hexes are 3/4in...)

Thanks for the info on TSA. I do reuse the papers too. Writing on them is not so much to identify a certain block but a way to amuse myself. Someday my kids will see them and wonder what I was doing. Meanwhile it's like a little diary and everytime I reuse a paper it brings back a memory.
