Thanks for the story and I love the Grandma flowers in the Kaffe Fassett prints. I also love the sewing kit you put together.
I want to learn hand piecing myself and you have inspired me. :)

ND, use an empty dental floss case, the little cutter works great.

I love your fabrics! I'm a big, BIG fan of Kaffe Fassett.
Tell me, didn't you have a problem taking your sewing kit on the plane? I haven't dared to try since they grabbed my favorite tiny scissors from me some time ago. It made me so upset and angry because my DGD had given them to me for my b'day.

I needed something like that on a recent trip to CO, but saw a very cute pattern for animals made out of yo-yo's. So, now I'm a yo-yo fan. It's great having something to do with my hands.

Sorry, I guess I skipped over some posts. I went back now and saw the ones about the blunt tipped scissors. I'll give them a try, but each airport's guards seem to have different rules. I hope the blunt scissors pass through all of them without a problem.

It's official.....I have turned into my mother!! She never sat down without some kind of "hand work". My two girls would save up mending for her to do when she came to visit once a year and it made her so happy. Well, I'm starting to get the same way. I crocheted baby blankets, sweaters and booties for my two new grandbabies, embroidered blocks for quilts, and can't seem to sit down without something to do with my hands. (Besides eating?) I really want to do a flower garden quilt, but I'm scared. Guess I just need to get on with it and get it over with. Hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours. You've inspired me!!!

Love the idea!!! Then you will not have to guess if it is safe to take on a flight or not. Thanks.

I just ordered the Baltimore Christmas pattern thinking it will be my hand project when I travel or sit at ball games. I just ordered one block to see if I can handle hand work enough to do a whole Baltimore Album quilt. I hope I like it as much as you seem to!
