I like the way the purple gives an intensity of color to the whole thing. Gorgeous!

Both are pretty...but the purple just "pops" IMO.

I agree.
Plus dark points on the star really sparkle when they are on a light background. If you have the chance, look up some pictures of these stars and check out what I mean.

I think it all depends on what you want your "stand out" color to be. They're both beautiful. It's just going to be personal preference now. Unless of course you have the rest of the fabric for the remainder of the quilt - than that should dictate which way you go. IMHO
