First I want to say the color sashing you used was perfect! The original maker is smiling that you finished her work. I think the answer on your question about the quilting is quilter's choice, it is your quilt after all. Your cornflower blue flowers were a very nice touch. The only thing I am wondering is, are you going to do any quilting on the border?

No, and now that it's all washed and shrunk up the SITD quilting that I did with the flowers is just right. I was considering doing quilting in the borders, that's why I posted. But, I do think that this is such a simple quilt any more quilting would be excessive. I'll try to post another photo of the after/shrunk version today.

Here it is all shrunk up and done. I'm not keeping it as it's a gift but it's hanging up for now in my sewing room.

It is so pretty I wonder if you will be able to part with it after enjoying it in your room. LOL!

I wondered if you (all - I'm a confused Northerner living in the South) were more used to washing fabric before using it or not. I still can't decide!

Doesn't look as if not qashing before hurt that quilt at all.

I'm typically a prewasher, but the triangles were precut already. I made sure to use Warm and Natural batting as I wanted it to shrink up. It really depends on what end result you want. I've got some quilts that I want to be absolutely flat with no shrinkage.
