Yup, It Was a Grand Adventure....
Hello Quilters! This is my 9th quilt, and based on the Jennie Doan "Grand Adventures" (Delectable Mountains) block which you can see here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F-_hH4hNxA
She interprets them as mountains, I think they are more like lanterns and that is what I tried to present in quilting them.
I used a Moda solid for the black, and the batiks just kind of came from everywhere.
This was quilted on a Tiara, using mostly simple ruler work using a Handi Gagets mini ruler. I used Superior Gold metallic on the colored lanterns and Signature black cotton thread on the black. The metallic behaved itself, but I think the Signature brand of thread was a little linty. The gold on the boarder was just some fancy stitch on my domestic machine.
I did bind it by machine, which turned out well...used a binding attachment which had a steep learning curve but was the right thing in the end.
Thanks for looking!

That is awesome! Love the bright colors against the black. Why do some quilters dislike blacks in quilts?--I love to use black for contrast. You did a beautiful job, and it looks like it will cover my K bed. (In case it ever wants a new home, teehee)
