"Zinger," a Scrappy Qtr. Log Cabin
#27
So creative to use the larger center square and stay with the same fabric for it all thru the quilt. It adds a unity and focal point to the randomness of the scraps in the quarter logs. I LOVE IT!!!!

If anyone makes this quilt, let me say it's important to sew 'past the ctr. sq. a little bit so when you square the blocks up, you are covered! I wish I had done that! I had to redo and fix 5 blocks by adding another strip on (but no one notices it) so they squared perfectly to 9". I was 1/4" or so short near the ctr. sq.
I also timed myself. I made 3 blocks in an hour x 10/day = 30 blocks in 3 days! Ta-da! Your quilt top will be done in 3 days!!! Just remember to sew past the square a little bit so the fab will be there when you go to square it up! The little blocks I cut @ 3.5". They all came out so nicely but laying on the ground makes it look wavy when it actually isn't. Good luck on your quilt if you make this one!!
Thanks everyone for such nice comments!! You are the best!!
