Default Ads, never had them before; want them gone!

As I haven't had ads appearing on my QB pages, I haven't a clue what I may have changed in my system to bring them on now. Can anyone help steer me in the right get-rid-of-them direction, please?!

google AdBlockPlus for the browser you are using. It is free and blocks almost 100% of the ads

Yeah, did that, but I must have jiggered with a setting because these just started 2 days ago. Can't figure out WITHIN ABlocker how to fix it.

I've got the same problem with MapAlley. I am constantly deleting stuff. I'm not tech savy enough to get into or out of it.

You may just need to update the adblocker. Particularly if you 'updated' your browser. Sometimes then the adblocker gets knocked out of whack. I use firefox. I get daily/hourly requests to 'update' my browser for 'security and stability'. Nope, not me. Last time I did that I had all kinds of havoc to deal with. Getting the adblocker to function properly was only one of the many challenges last time.

Jan, when I sign in I notice a box on the right side of my screen to sign up for the newsletter and a place to click on to agree to receive ads from partners. Could you have accidentally clicked there to start this ad dump? Sometimes when you respond to 'updating' one of the programs you do use, unintended changes take place. I have had this happen when invited to update security programs.

I don't like the adds that now take up space and interrupt my reading the board--just remove them from the board and not make us jump thru hoops!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this is a free site but adds just detrack from the board.

Me, too! Haven't changed a thing with my computer but the ads started just recently. Very disruptive and annoying.

I installed the AdBlocker (thanks to board member suggestions) about 3 or 4 months ago & haven't had those irritating ads pop up any more.

    Nan,
I did manage to figure out how to enable the AdBlocker -- had it disabled somehow, which I just instinctively knew, but was unsure how to fix it. Well, I've fixed it now but still have ads this morning on GB. Maybe they will disappear when I reboot. May have to install AdBlock Plus....did anyone else realize these two programs are from different companies???
