it seems there are ads, almost all over these pages,!! if my mouse happens on the side of the page, a ad, opens up, and across the top of the opening pages , theres a big ad, that will open up. why are there so many or any at all?

I use Firefox as my browser. I don't get so many ads as when I am on my laptop that only has Internet Explorer for the browser.

If it wasn't for the ads the Board could not give us all this FREE information and entertainment. You'll get used to using the new format soon. Make a habit of moving your cursor to the blank area on the side margin when you are browsing and that should solve your problem.

the developers designate certain spaces on the pages for ads, but most of the ads themselves are pushed into that space by Google. they are not supposed to result in pop-ups, and they are not supposed to expand to eat up chunks of the page beyond the designated space. some ads are cleverly coded to bypass controls like that.

if you pass your mouse over an ad and it "misbehaves", try to do the following:
    1. keep the mouse there, but do not click on the ad.
    2. look in the lower left corner of your browser to see if it displays the source of that ad. if it does take a screen shot and send it to me by email. i can send that forward so they can try to track down and block that ad.

I get ads at the top and bottom. I will have to try an ad blocker. I really don't like them.
