Default Backing out of a thread, back to New Posts

I've had some sporadic trouble in the past week with this board. I generally read New Posts in the morning and at night. Sometimes, when I open a post and read it, I cannot back out of it. There seems to be some ad mechanism at works--when I hold down my back button, another website appears, listed at least 20 times, rather than listing the last website address for the last post I've read. I hope this makes sense to the mods on this board. Any advisement would be helpful. I have only had this problem so far on Internet Explorer, not when reading on my Ipad.

I use Firefox and free AdBlocker. I've not had any issues this way. I used to have lots of trouble with IE.

Yes, I am having trouble using the "back" button also - sometimes, I have to go back to the top and click on "home" and then click on the board that I was just using and start over.
