Default How do you perform a search on the forum?

I am looking for tshirt quilt inspiration and when I enter that in search I get maybe two and alot of other stuff not pertaining to my search. I also looked on the quilt gallery but no tshirt quilts. I know people have made and posted a ton of them. Please help and thank you in advance.

The search function on this forum leaves a lot to be desired. I would instead use google to search.

google might be a better source for searching. More hits of great inspiration, and a lot of the images come form this board ;-)

when i want to find something on the QB, i do use our Advanced Search function and choose the left tab. if i want to find more than one word, i join them but using + : fan+duck . sometimes that doesn't work well either. if i know i saw it recently and my word might be in the title, i go to archives and pull up the list of the most recent 250 threads... then use control+f and use the windows search function at the bottom of the screen. like the others have suggested, i also search with google. but if i want to find something specifically on the QB, i also use quiltingboard as one of the search words. HTH

One of my favourites was done by watterside under the title 2 T-shirt quilts...totally screwed up one. Put the title in the search box and it should come up. It is the first one done on a yellow background with a shadow effect. Love that quilt!

I've been impressed with these people. Lots of inspiration here ...

    http://www.toocooltshirtquilts.com

For a company "in the business" they are not afraid to share a lot about the how-to's.
You'll also find out lots about the layout/design possibilities.

Here's a link to the one that Tartan suggested ....
(BTW .. the correct spelling of the poster is WattersTide)

Using the general search function on QB will result in lots of extraneous stuff being returned. Here's how to do a more targeted search, look for a specific word(s) in the title only and in a specific forum. This example is for TShirt in the Picture section of the Forum, but you get the general idea.
-Go to "Advanced Search" in the upper right of this page.
-Next click on the "Search Single Content Type" on the left side, under the ad
-Put "TShirt" (without the quotes) into the "Keyword(s)" box
-Select "Search Titles Only" from the dropdown
-under "Additional Options" select "Pictures" from the "Search in Forum(s)" list.
This will bring up all the postings in the Pictures section that have TShirt in the title. I would then repeat the search, but this time use "T shirt"

Before the board change it was great to use the board search but ever since the change it is no good. I now also use google and do not use the board to search quilt stuff.
