Not by yourself, anyway!
There is a limit of 500 messages total (that includes both sent and received) - and one can download them to a computer - but I don't know what the three choices are/mean.
So I saved them in all three "styles" - I hardly ever go back to check a message, but I still hate to dump them completely.

these are extension files developed so people with different software can share data and or produce a common language. think of you sending me an excel spreadsheet file (XLS), that I dont have, but I want to read it in my word software program (doc). You tell your computer to export/ translate into CVS, and I take your CVS and import it and translate it into my word .doc). We have t do this because there is not a way for word (doc) to read excel (xls) directly. This is the best way I can explain this in non tech terms.
XML is the file extension file for the Extensible Markup Language
CSV is the file extension for comma-separated Value

They are all easy to retrieve (push a button), The question you need to ask is what software do I own that can read one of those files. THAT is the one you should choose.
