profile picture is gone, now none will upload

All of a sudden my profile pic is gone, and no matter what image I try to add to my profile, none will upload, even though they are all within the proper size. What's up with that and why was it deleted?

i don't know why it disappeared but if you send me the pic file by email i will be happy to smack that sucker around until it cooperates and uploads.

I have been having down loading problem and since I have been digging around I have things so messed up on this site that I don't know where anything is or what I am going to do about it.
