    Default Script Errors

Starting yesterday, I have been getting "script errors" on the QB. No matter whether I click on "continue" or "stop", the error keeps popping back up. I can't "X" out of it and the QB freezes. I have to do a Ctl, Alt, Delete shutdown to even get out of the screen. Even then, when I go back to the QB, the same error happens again. I have even done a "restore" prior to yesterday's date to get rid of "it" but no luck.

The script error is a string of #'s so hard to tell where it originates from. The QB is the only site I'm receiving the error on. I have browsed at least 5 other sites w/o problem.

I am running Firefox on Windows 7 on my laptop where the errors occur. I am posting this on my desktop which has Google Chrome and I haven't tried to browse QB; just came straight to Help Center to try to get an inquiry in.

Is there any info that QB has that might help? Also, prior to this, that dumb insurance ad kept loading and I definitely did not click on that thing!! It is also taking a while for that ad to load before I can get on the QB.

    Thanks,
    Carolyn

please let us know whether or not you experience the same problem cruising with Chrome.
i ask that because (1) FireFox pushed an update the other day; and (2) one user sent me an email reporting a similar experience right after the update.

i also use FireFox but haven't had any problems.
that doesn't mean there isn't a problem ... only that we'll need more clues in order to attempt to identify the cause.

I had this problem.....I have Windows 7, too. I had to have my computer fixer guy come over to fix it. Seems Microsoft did an automatic update to IE9......nothing synced to it. Took my guy five hours of constant fiddling to find the problem. It seems to be fixed now. He ended up "uninstalling" IE9, but it reinstalled automatically last night. Seems to be OK, however, now. I did have to redo my password with the server.....such a hazzle for us "non-techies". Thank God I have a person I can call upon to help, albeit, it costs.......Don't know if this helps, but it's what happened to me......

wendig, I'm running Firefox so not using Windows IE. I am now on my laptop which is Firefox running on the old Windows XP and I'm not having problems. Also as Patrice asked, I am able to access the QB on Google Chrome with Windows 7. So it must be something to do with the combo of Firefox with Windows 7. My mini laptop which is the one I'm having problems with won't allow me on the QB at all. Well it will allow me to access the site but no navigation...it freezes and I have to still do Ctl, Alt, Delete to get out of it. But I can access other sites w/o problems at all including ebay, etsy and some sewing machine sites that I have tried so far. I really miss not having my MINI to browse the QB since it is so little, I can lay down (being lazy) and browse until I fall asleep at night!! LOL I also have a computer guy (who doesn't charge me) but I hate to get him to work on it for something that maybe we can figure out ourselves. I don't want to take advantage of him!!

    Default up and down bar

why am I having trouble moving up and down on some of your sites reading items? I use my mouse to move the bar/arrows at the right of my screen in order to see something new or something I have just read and it moves quite jerky, and sometimes not at all. I'm getting a rectangle saying something about script something or other is busy or not responding.. This been happening more and more lately and not before. It doesn't happen at other sites, so I'm thinking there must be something wrong at places on your site. Some places on your site, I don't have trouble, but am having more trouble more and more. I'd appreciate any help you can give me in this.

Hi janis, I'm not having the problem but others are. You might want to take a look at this thread that was started a day or so ago. Maybe it will help you resolve your issue.

    Hi Nanamons,

We would like to help you resolve this issue. But before I ask you some questions I want you to clear your browser cookies and cache.

How to clear your cookie and cache >> Go to FF > Tools > Clear recent history > Select Cookies and Cache > Hit Clear Now Button> Close your FF Browser.

Now open new FF browser and load the Site. If you still see that your browser freezes up then answer the following question, this is help us understand the problem better,

    1) What version of FF are you on.
    2) When did this problem occur first?
    3) Do you see the issue as soon as you load the home page "http://www.quilitngboard.com" or does it start after you have visited a page or two on the site.
    4) Does it happen when you logged in or while you are logged out ?
    5) Is it consistent across the site or is it on particular page.
    4) Have you by any chance seen any particular ad that runs always when your browser freezes ?

I am sorry for the inconvenience. We are trying out best to resolve this issue. Mean time I suggest that you should use a different browsers.

    Thanks,
    Bhavisha

Thank you PatriceJ for pointing me toward this posting. Thanks Bhavisha for telling us what to do to fix the problem with the site. I went on one of the threads that I'd had trouble with for the last couple of days after I did the 'fix' and had no more problems. Thanks again. Now I can really enjoy the QB again! I am using Windows XP.

I also started having problems recently with script errors and it was taking forever to scroll down a page. I use Windows7 and Firefox so downloaded a free Firefox add on "Simple Adblock" and it seems to have solved my problem. You might want to try it. If it doesn't work for you, you can easily remove the add on.

ibadmin, I cleared my Cache and restarted my computer. So far, So good! The QB is still slow to respond and as mentioned above, the "bar" is very hesitant. The back arrow hesitates too. The hesitation is only on the QB so it shouldn't be my computer slowing down.

wingrider, thanks for the add on. I'm going to download it to see if it helps. Would you please post the link to "Simple Adblock". I went to FF and all I got was comments about uninstalling it.

One thing I have noticed is that the Allstate ad that was usually across the top of the page is no longer there. There is another ad. Don't know how the ads work in connection with the QB content but that I would mention this.
