    Default Are videos allowed here?

I see the video icon by the photo one, but I have never seen one in the forums.
Are they allowed? Under what circumstances? Is linking to youtube better? Thanks a bunch.

I have seen links to YouTube videos several times. I have never seen a video made by one of our quilters here. It will be interesting to know if it's possible to post one.

the rules do not specifically forbid posting videos but - to be honest - we are never thrilled to see them.
many of our members are using old technology so videos can really bog them down.
we much prefer that you post links to videos instead.

that said, i do realize that videos are now an increasingly popular learning tool.

if you have produced a video that is 100% yours and that you are confident will not be an inconvenience to users of computers or devices that are not "souped up for the Indy 500" then you may try posting it.

if it turns out that the video is causing technological problems for other members a moderator will have no choice but to remove it. we will appreciate the thought and effort that preceded and motivated the posting, but ...

    please take note:
if the link appears to be for the purpose of advertising or promoting our own sites, products, etc, we can't post them.
it's probably a good idea to run it by me first so you don't accidentally goof.
