Question Why are "Items for sale" closed & locked out?

I always like to check & see if anybody is selling fabric but almost all the post are closed. Patrice has posted on some to contact the seller through PM. Is it just me that seeing this or is everbody else seeing it too? Can someone explain this please.

    Thanks

    1. to ensure that all communication between sellers and buyers is by Private Message.
    2. to ensure that all ads remain listed in the order they were posted.
