I'm not planning to leave the house for a few days... School was closed state wide on Friday for tomorrow and our kitten's spaying was postponed a week. It's been a really cold winter so far with multiple overnights below -30! Good weather to sew, read and snuggle up by the fireplace.

Thanks for the info... I want to give those cards a try.

In addition to complete some of my UFOs I also promised myself that I would FINISH one project BEFORE pulling out the next. I love to jump around on my projects (or start a new one if I get bored). So I sandwiched the next piece and had to wait for it to talk to me. It FINALLY did yesterday. Off to do some UFO quilting. YEAH!

Asimplelife--I like that scrappy and the variegated thread. I do like that method of quilting. What I ended up doing was using white since the back on mine is pink and white, and almost every block on the front has white in it. I did SITD and am almost finished with the quilting. Ironically, as a quilter, my least favorite part of making a quilt is quilting. Good news is, I like to bind by hand, so I expect this quilt to be finished within the week.

I think, as a quilter, I'm really a piecer, as that's the part I love the most. Quilting is painful for me as moving around the bulky mass of the quilt aggravates my fibro and neck/shoulder issues. If I had a quilting fairy or elf, lol, I'd be one happy camper and never have UFO's except the ones I adopt from other people.

wildyard--I too enjoy the piecing more than the quilting. I have issues with my right arm (shoulder and elbow) that prevent me from doing anything fancy. I finish most of my quilts QAYG so I don't have to work with large amounts of fabric at a time. Maybe someday I will be able to do more....

WoW!! Everyone is getting busy. That's great..... cards, regular sized quilts. It looks like we have a train load already.

Someone said we should post pictures of the UFOs we are starting with.... so here are mine. I am working on 2 simultaneously.

The birds in the air quilt I started 7 or 8 years ago. It's been on the quilting frame for 2 years but I've only been able to work on it for about 6 months. That's because we spend 6 months of the year at our cabin and then I couldn't work on it last winter because I broke my arm. So, it's time to get it done. I'm kind of slow at hand quilting but I do love the look of it.

The cathedral window quilt is for my daughter to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary. The problem is that she passed 25 years 2 years ago. Just 6 more rows and it will be done and I can box it up and ship it to her.

I'm hoping to get both of these done in the next 6 weeks..... we'll see if I can get that done.

Nanna: Just beautiful quilts. They are lovely and the hand quilting is marvelous. Keep showing us your progress.
I've been busy in my sewing room, but not on UFOs. I joined a mystery and a quilt along, having great fun but it isn't doing a thing for my UFOs. These quilts will not be joining my UFO stack!
