We had to go to Home Depot today which is on the way by my favorite LQS. DH asked if I wanted to stop and I said "no thanks." Since we had just dropped kitty off at the vet where we got a $650 bill for an unexpected operation, I could not justify even thinking of fabic.

IrishRose, good to see you back.

I am so sorry to hear about your kitty, I hope she is recovering and will soon be back in your home.

Kitty is doing better, thanks. Both the warm compresses and the antibiotics have not been met with too much resistance. However, the cone seems to prove difficult or at least "Dad" thinks so. My DH has been moving everything out of her way which makes a house already under construction even more of a disaster.

Took pics of my Dresden Blooms but they won't upload. I'll have to make them smaller, I suppose. Not now - time to go tare down the wall in the bathroom. (Yes, very romantic on Valentine's Day)

Great quilt, and you get extra credit for piecing the batting & backing!

Did you hear that thump? Yep, that was me. My girlfriend came over to bind a quilt, but when she got here she said 'lets go to Mary Maxim's'. Although they are known for their yarns, they have a pretty nice fabric department and usually have a large selection of markdowns, 40-60% off. I wanted to make a quilt for my cousin's daughter. Her house has red & teal accents which I have in my stash, but I needed a print to pull it together. Found the print. Also found 4 batiks in the markdowns, a yard of each came home with me. I did make it 6 whole weeks, this shopping trip was totally unplanned... I guess I hang out with people who lead me astray.

I just finished a small quilt made entirely from stash. Actually, made from scraps from an earlier quilt. I had a pile of 10" squares left over, and a little bit of the sashing material. It turned out to be just enough for this quilt. I even pieced the backing from leftover flannel from earlier quilts.

Paperprincess...I think we are all entitled to fall off just a little and then get back on. Don't want to give the fabric shops too much of a shock and not ever buy anything...and kristakz, your little quilt is gorgeous. Yea for pulling all from stash and even better...using up little orphan scraps. Hang in there everyone...it is only February and for all the people who are in this group, I think we are doing really well...not too many thumps posted this month considering all who jumped on at first of last month. I personally, was one who 'fell' off. :-)
