Oksewglad, it's all done by machine, did the buttonhole stitch. My friend did one too, and she used different reds for the flag stripes, that turned out cute too. Thanks for asking........calla

Everyone is doing so great. Calla - love your quilt. I haven't purchased any sewing items for a while. My quilting frame arrived but it's still sitting in the living room in pieces as I have to buy 1-1/4" diameter metal conduit and figure out how to cut them down to 8-1/2 feet. My pipe cutter only goes to 1-1/8". I'm going out of the town this coming week, so it will probably be the week after when I have time to put the frame together. It's supposed to be easy.... but there are so many pieces.... and I've never been good a jigsaw puzzles. Thankfully I love an adventure.

Ok. Confession time. I went on vacation, and had spending money left over when I returned, so I went to the quilt shop & supported the local economy. I got 3 yards of a neutral, which is my kryptonite.

Thanks, call a...I've avoided projects like yours because I don't do much applique...this may be an alternative.
I stopped at LQS this week...brought home some FQ's and a 1/4 yard of 4 fabrics...I'm working on Christmas minis and needed some finish fabrics for my donated scraps, mostly HST'S...have 3 tops done and everything I need to finish them plus an old WIP...I refrained from yardage. Not only that when I drove my sis to travel departure, I bypassed 2 really nice LQS on the way home.....dodged that bullet....

Went to LQS and bought backing fabric for 1 quilt and 1 row by row kit, and 2 BOM kits and that was it. I stuck to my plan and did not buy anything extra. Yea!
Congrates to all who stuck to your plan or did not buy at all. YEA!!!!!!

I've been staying out of the fabric stores and off the fabric sites. Yay for me. Can't guarantee for how long this will last, but I take it for now.

Well all, I have tumbled and rolled. I needed oranges for pumpkins, and greens for stems........a couple of neutrals, I'm pleading innocent about the chicken fabric. In addition, I received a letter from a credit card company that I hadn't used my cc in 14 months and if I didn't use it soon they would close the account. Soooooooo I had to charge something. I'm including a picture ...that is true about the letter.....calla

Calls, I like the idea, blame it on the credit card company. It works for me. LOL
