    Default August challenge

Here is my August challenge. I wanted to do something with curves and opted for the pattern Canyon Dance. I procrastinated at getting started on it, wanting to find better fabric. Gave up and used what I had found. It will get a border of the dark print or the dark red.

Nice! Really does look like a challenge. Your fabrics are well suited to that pattern.

I like the fabrics you used in this.

I love it. Fresh, modern, warm. Border and binding are just right. How big is this one?

It's about 40 x 40. Tried to keep it smaller so I would get it done.

Everything about this sings! The fabrics play nicely together, and the border fabric seems to leap into the design, which works so very well! Nicely done, you have completed this challenge with flying colors.

It's been sort of quiet on this thread. I hope everyone is making progress on their challenge in progress. I found fabrics for my last challenge. I have a basic selection of fabrics. My color palette will be red, plummy purple, sort of olive green, a bit of gold plus creamy neutrals.

Please continue to post photos of your challenge projects for everyone to enjoy and learn from.

    Gorgeous Quilt!!!

I have the August challenge quilted (just need to do the binding) and the black/white one is on my quilt frame. It should be finished soon and then another binding! Woo-hoo!

    Default Final challenge

I struggled with the last challenge. I didn't know that working with fabrics or color hues that i don't like would be so difficult. I apologize to those who love historic prints. They truly made me not want to sew....

I tried a couple of the tilted, wonky log cabin blocks, but they weren't talking to me. I had this block in mind for a scrappy quilt, so I went with it. Something about blocks with partial seams intrigues me.

The top needed something, so i put the blocks on point. It sort of suits the historic fabric setting blocks. It will have to wait to get quilted. A few holiday things and samples for a demo at guild meeting come first.
