2015 Monthly Color and Design Challenge
#12
Ordered mine! Estimated arrival is Jan 9-15. Hopefully though, since I chose a seller from my own state it will get here sooner!

Thanks for the tip Kristi, I went ahead and picked this up! It won't get here for a week or two but I'm really interested in this challenge even though I don't think I have time for it. I will happily follow along and participate when I can.

Okay, my bad. I went back and reread (always a good thing, when one hasn't paid close attention the first time around). She says we will begin in January with the first challenge. Thanks for clarifying. We are to use purple and a rail fence in some project we choose. I can do that, I think.
Now off to order the book.

The challenge starts in January.
In January we will begin with the first challenge in the book- Quilt challenge "what if " ideas for color and design. Refer to Challenge #1 on pages 8 & 9 for details.
1. Select a fabric similar in color and value to the challenge fabric. Add whatever fabrics you wish.
2. Use the required block and fabric somewhere in your quilt. The idea is to take the block and make it your own. Modification of the block is encouraged.
3.Your challenge project can be any size. This is your challenge, so make it work for you. I plan to make "Warm hug" size quilts for children and seniors.
4. At the end of the month post a photo of your quilt or work in progress for all of us to enjoy and learn from.

Looks like an interesting book.. I googled *Sharyn Craig Amazon* and found the author was generous enough to include pages 8-12 and front covr and back cover, so now that I know the color and block.. can debate what to do on that concept... I still think I want to have the book if I can find it at Joanns with a coupon... , looks like a super good book....

I received a notice from Amazon that my book shipped, then the next day the order was cancelled. Something odd must've happened. So I had to reorder. Did that tonight so not sure exactly when the book will show up. I'm still hoping by the end of the week! I've got an idea for my project and I'm anxious to get started!

Can I just say I am SO enthused about this challenge. My book arrived yesterday ,and I read it cover-to-cover in one sitting (not that it's a long read--it's not at all--but I was excited and loved every picture).
I am VERY inspired and already have some ideas working in my head.
January's project will be small, considering the time frame. Well, they'll all probably be small since I plan to continue making doll quilts for Operation Christmas Child and a month is a good amount of time for that. Good thing the block is just a Rail Fence this month. I think I MIGHT be able to start and finish a little project with the the easiest-peasiest block out there!

What to do while I wait....
I received my book and took it to be spiral bound. I didn't realize they would make me wait a week. Based upon comments here I think I get the idea for January and have a flicker of an idea for a miniature that might be fun and a bit challenging. I don't want to rush ahead until I get my book back and review the material for the first challenge....Friday, I hope. Ok, so I'll dig out all my purples from stash. That will take a while, Lol.
