I have had 6 deaths within 11 mos. and they include my husband, cousin, best friend since 1st grade, my sister, and two neighbors from my childhood. But ... I have been working on a UFO!!! Quilting does make all sad things go away ... at least for a while. I hope to have this UFO finished by Monday, if all goes well! It's a scrappy and has 500 2-1/2" squares in the front and 224 squares in the back. I haven't put a dent in my scraps, but I'm enjoying the process. I'll post a picture when I'm done. I'm so happy to be back and seeing all the wonderful quilts!
Sometimes we just have to step back and do what needs to be done. My sympathy to you...I had a year similar when both my parents died 37 years ago..you do get through it.

Very pretty Judy

Judy: That is an outstanding quilt both front and back. Everything about it yells family heirloom.

I started this back in I think March 2011, not knowing what I'd do with it at the time.

Finally finished today, as a lap quilt for my father for father's day.

I hope the chalk marks I put on it all those years ago wash off, it's too late to take it by the laundry tonight.

Great quilt, never would have put those to fabrics together but they really really work.

I finished the sampler but the pictures I have are really bad. Here goes.

Here's my May finish. It is called pick up sticks and I quilted it 'upside down' so I could follow the circles on the backing fabric.

A couple more fun quilts posted today! Keep it up!

I have the last border pinned on. Tomorrow is a sewing day so I should get that done and maybe get the binding done too (it is QAYG, so quilting is done on the main quilt top already).
