2016 Fabric Moratorium
#151
Went thrift store shopping and came out with three flannel sheets - one twin, two full. total $5. It is the perfect weight for batting in my quilts!

As for batting.....that is a staple requirement so no, it does not count. Neither does backing (most of us don't have large pieces laying around) or bits we HAVE to buy to finish a project.
Of course there is the "outchie" clause or in elly's case the pouty clause. Nothing helps a bum foot like fabric buying. Get well soon.

I'm off to a pretty good start shopping my stash. So far I have pulled out and used a total of 4.25 yards of stash fabric. 7 different pieces. I am also sorting ( little scraps) going to pass some on, using some for a new hand project. Scrap quilts are going to be a big part of my year.

No, I am going to straighten the edges and add a 3" border of the grey background fabric. It will finish at roughly 56" square - a nice lap size. Thanks for the compliments.

I caved in. Not sure if this counts or not, but I bought a bolt of 108" wide muslin to back quilt tops. Am I a moratorium failure?
