2016 Fabric Moratorium
#181
Where is the stuff moratorium, my two items turned in to a whole bunch and I walked out 50 dollars poorer and still need the silicon pad. But no fabric.

Mitchell used his quilt last night, told me that it kept him warm and he loves his 'stripes'. He's very happy with it, so mission accomplished. Now I plan to spend some quality time with my sewing machine to whip up that baby quilt so I can get that done and sent off to Florida.

Here is a picture of one of the donations that I posted about a few days ago. There are strips from 1 to 3 1/2" wide and from a few inches long to WOF; triangles (unfortunately some of them will need to be resized because an end was cut off too much); squares and HST squares; a few blocks; some smaller yardage; and those 2 balls of torn fabric strips.
I need to finish a couple of projects before I open up one of the balls. It's really bugging me that I am making myself wait to see how many strips are in each one!
I really need to say 'no more donations because I am trying to downsize my small stash!' But I will keep on accepting them because it is so much fun going through the bags! 7 bags(gallon size) plus some loose strips in this donation.

In the process of cutting out a new quilt I managed to use up (5) yards of whites! Yea! I'm managing to use some of what I have. also using scraps for my Millefiore project block (7) will use up a couple fq's worth.

I'm working on a tote using one and a half inch strips. A lot of work. I thinks sometimes I should throw scraps away and start over. Or that I'm crazy for cutting one and a half inch scraps for a tote. There has been some real pretty quilts finished this year.

I am sorting scraps, fat qtrs, and yardage to donate to our "Country Store" in our quilt show in March. I am putting fat qtrs in plastic snack bags. Yardage and scraps go in gallon plastic bags. All are marked. There is no reason for me to continue to save all of this stuff - if I worked 24/7, I still wouldn't be able to use it all ... better someone else gets it and our guild makes a little money.
