So we all showed up at our art class with bags of supplies only to find out that the college required her to give a supply list. She said that when she told them that pencils, charcoal and paper were the only requirement, the college didn't accept it. An art class needs art supplies. Looks like I have a bunch of stuff I won't be using (at least not in THIS class). I did have fun though.

We copied some line art upside down (the art - not us, lol). By having the artwork in a different orientation, the analytical part of your left brain will not be involved. Instead, the focus shifts to the right side of the brain for the outlines and lines in relation to each-other. Mine didn't turn out half bad.
Then we did some contour drawing (hand, hand holding an object) and some blind contour drawing. I sat sideways to the table and kept looking at my hand while drawing it (without ANY orientation on the paper). My hand looked only slightly deformed.
We also started a self-portrait. (I need to lose weight and get rid of my jowls). However, I will use this self-portrait method to make a quilted self portrait. I did take one of the classes on craftsy but the gal there (can't remember her name) used just basic shapes to create the portrait. I would prefer to use my special shapes to do that.

Thanks for the laugh Martina! I shudder thinking about doing a self portrait!
I think I might have figured pictures on windows 10 out finally. I say might because I very well could forget by tomorrow. I can't remember when I had talked about this quilt and not liking how it was turning out. I did change it up and like it better at least. This all came from my stash so thought I would post.

fab quilt, love the bright colors.
I'm a yard and a half down. I needed another 1/2 yd at least of the background fabric for the grandma's flower garden and while I was there I saw some peacock fabric that I just had to have. I used one little 4 inch square of it for a center in the flower garden. I don't think that justifies buying 1/2 yard. But that's what I did.

Elly, love the brights!
Martina, I'm so envious. I can't draw a straight line with a pencil & ruler, however, I can do a pretty good freehand fill with my longarm, so I guess that's what counts!

Well, I've not been doing well (with the moratorium). In my defense, I've finished several smaller items. Am worried as I am going to Paducah!!! I can't resist the bargains Hancocks of Paducah create each day!! Wish me luck???

Linda, if I were to go to Paducah I would take an extra suitcase and to h*ll with the moratorium. I think Paducah is in its own category for "sanctioned purchases."
