2016 Fabric Moratorium
#581
It was bag lady day today. I was just going to buy thread really. I came home with 4 fat eighths and 1/2 yard of beautiful butterfly fabric. I had seen it before and resisted it but today my resistance was low. I admit I bought the fabrics for petty purposes only. Someone want to help me back on the wagon?

tkhooper, you ONLY got 1/2 yard. That's not bad. A while back you would have walked out of the store with major yardage.

Well up until Friday I had not purchased one single piece of fabric -- not even an inch. Then I found out that Hancocks here in town has less than a month to stay open, so decided it was time to exercise my birthday exemption. Yeah, my birthday isn't until September, but Hancocks will be long gone by then. I purchased pieces that were left on the bolt to get the extra 10% discount, so 47 yards cost me $70.27. That averages to $1.49 a yard. The majority of these will be used in charity quilts. So, I'm a happy camper and don't feel the least bit bad at buying stash fabrics due to the unusual circumstances.
At least that is my story and I'm sticking with it.

Martina, I LOVE the quilt! Your color placement is wonderful. There are some blocks that just glow. I think I see one of my fabrics, 32nd one down, 17 over.
Been gone a while with family issues, so my compliments are behind the times.
Needed a bit of therapy, so I decided on the retail variety. Fell off the wagon at a fabric store sale but don't feel badly at all. It was just what I needed.

Belfrybat: You got really good prices on that fabric. I paid 2.50 per yard when I went to my local Hancocks a few weeks ago. I hope to get back to one before they close.
PaperPrincess: I hope the family issues have been resolved. I'm glad the retail therapy helped.
