2016 Fabric Moratorium

Oksewglad love that fall picture. Yesterday I went into Joanns and came out with... a can of basting spray. In the last month I have completed four quilts using just stash and have another one that I am going to baste today again all stash now that I have learned to piece batting I am buying even less. Just the basting spray and sometimes thread. I have three table runners from orphan blocks and stash that I am working on. And planned out a little fall quilt from some panel blocks and stash. Who knew I could find so much fun and great projects using just what I had? And I am tearing thru my UFO pile. I am running short on backing size fabric though

Thanks for the comments on the fallscapes...started to quilt them...SID goes fast and will try to thread paint a bit in the scene...I fell on Thursday...my QBuddy and did a shop hop...the RWB fabric I bought will go to finish the QOV top I've made from scraps, but the other 8 yards I found goes into stash...yikes..

Fell off just a little found some nice coordinated fabrics at the thrift store in a colorway that I am working with and two larger pieces that I can use as backing for less then 6 bucks I snagged them.

I was talking about my sewing room needing to be organized. My MIL piped up that it would be a lot easier if I stayed out of fabric shops. That I could stop buying fabric...... WELL, where's the fun in THAT?

Your right MadQuilter where is the fun in that as I found today, I was back in another thrift store seeking some fun inexpensive decorations for a baby shower. And I could not stop myself I wondered on over to the fabrics at first I resisted then I found 8 yards of Robert Kaufman America the beautiful fabric for 12 bucks and in the prefect colorway for a quilt I am working on should make a nice backing. Then I found four yards of another patriotic for 5 and then some patriotic teddys for 99 cents. Then I ran away least I dug for more. Now to find some place to put it And now to go off to bind a stash quilt that took about four yards out.

Since it was fun if a bit naughty I though I should share photos.
the first two photos are from yesterday. The bows are cotton and about a yard and half the Monkeys are flannel and just shy of two. Then a yard of the stripes and about three quarters of yard each of coordinating lavender and green. The patriotic are 8 yards stripe Kaufman 4 yards and a yard of the teddies. All for under 21 bucks so not bad and most already have a use.
