Oh so sorry to hear your having such troubles MadQuilter I too have been having such a couple weeks and having lots of anxiety. I too went off the rails again went into Hobby lobby and got a just a bit carried away for the baby shower then bought several sheets for backings at the goodwill next door. why is it when we are the most stressed about money we go spend it. I did put together a top just from stash but not quite loving it so pulled another color way and I am starting the quilt again. Then realized I was almost out of the white I pulled and used just not enough to actually finish the new quilt, some days it best to just step away and take a deep breath. Hugs for all that are having a tough week.

Martina, I am a firm believer in retail therapy (as long as it doesn't affect the budget). When my parents were both ill, I would occasionally go to an upholstery outlet and buy a yard or so. I was intending to make bags, but didn't have time to sew. I did make some totes, but had a bunch of yardage left unused. I eventually realized that the fabric had fulfilled it's purpose for me just by being purchased & getting my mind off problems for a while. I donated most of it. It was sure cheaper than therapy!
Hope everything resolves itself happily.

Martina - thoughts are being sent your way. That's a lot on one person's mind and plate. Good luck!!

Thanks y'all. Hugs and good thoughts help. Sending some of mine to Altairss. My friend at work told me that we are in the year of the fire monkey which apparently causes havoc. I will give that fire monkey all the bananas it wants if it stops throwing "stuff" my way.

Well, the trip to the PIQF was bountiful. I got a Westalee foot and ruler set, some other rulers, an ironing board cover, and the tuffet pattern (DH is enamored with the look of the tuffet and wants one). THE ONLY fabric that jumped into my bag was a panel with animals and some coordinating fabric for a baby quilt. My colleague - the biologist - is pregnant with a girl. I have nothing in my stash that works. So I did pretty darn good. It wasn't a cheap day by all means, but my stash did not take a huge hit. Oh, and some of those quilts were AMAZING.

Wow Martina great job in passing on stash fabric! Sounds like a fun day! I've been looking at these ruler sets as well. Would love to hear what you think of them once you try them out.

Question of the day? If I order fabric the last 2 weeks of a month and get the fabric during my BD month. Does that count For my Birthday buy? Just trying to follow the rules. LOL I'm so in the mood to buy fabric. MO star and my fabric LQS is strongly calling my name. Plus the weather is so nice. Forecast upper 80's today, but windy, might wait until tomorrow, not quite as windy. I need backing, and border fabric and swap presents.

FYI: Judy is doing an express Mystery train ride this week, #15. It started on 10/15/16 1st clue and ends in a few more days. check it out if mystery projects interest you.
