2016 UFO Challenge of the Month
#1761
Congratulations, Jaba for three UFO finishes! They don't need to be big - these are perfect just as they are. I really love the pink and green, it's so interesting. Toot, Toot for your finishes and for the added thrill of them being part of the mini-challenge!

Another UFO finish RetiredTeacher09. Good for you, a four year old piece, done and ready to be presented just in time. Great job! Congratulations and Toot, Toot!
One UFO finish!!!!! Yippee!
This is about 4 years old. My niece made the top from my DMIL's stash that I was given to use for my church group. I decided I wanted to make quilts for my in-laws' unmarried grandchildren if there weren't enough in the quilt trunk. My niece knew I wanted to do this so she made a top from the stash for her brother. It got put away when he didn't marry his girlfriend at the time and I pulled it out last November when he announced his engagement to a sweet young lady.
My responsibility was to buy the kind of batting my MIL used and a sheet for the backing as was her tradition. Then I gave it to the Senior Center ladies that my MIL used so it could get hand quilted. I went to pick it up last week and put the binding on it today. I'm glad I finished it before the wedding this Saturday! Lol!
My MIL liked to give the quilts for the wedding showers but I only managed to do that for one of the 3 quilts that I finished for her grandchildren over the past 14 months. My son and DDIL got theirs on their wedding day just like my nephew and his wife will get theirs on their wedding day.

OMGosh, I apologize for being awol these last few days, or is it closer to a week? (Nobody tell me please.) I've been swamped on so many levels that I haven't been keeping up with the important things, like this mini-challenge.
But I'm on it now. We've had 8 finishes but we have until July 31 to get to our 22 finishes needed to complete the challenge successfully. There are still quite a few more days, including two weekends so maybe we can pull it off! Anybody else out there have something in the works? I hope so.

The first one is up!
Okay everyone, this is going to be my first UFO to finish by the end of August! Just a top needs to be quilted and bound.
It was pieced around 2009. Think it's about time? LOL...wish me luck! Oh, by the way, I'm going to try and quilt it myself....Yikes!!!

I'm still hard at work on my pixel quilt. Am on number 18 of the 23 specialty blocks where the different colors come together. Once these are finished, I'll be ready to put the rows together!!! I'm really getting excited for that time to come!! Still hoping to make this a July finish.

Yippee, finally got some photos ready to load.
Finish one is a wedding quilt I started two years ago for a wedding gift. I know two years ago because the invitation says so. LOL
I even have the label on it and the hanging sleeve. The couple want to hang it. Whew, this was a tough one to do. Hard to stay focused on it because it just did not want to speak to me.
