2017 Fabric Moratorium
#271
Well, it's almost the end of the month and I haven't purchased fabric yet. I pieced a back today from FQs and like the effect. I might do that more often as I have over 100 FQs left even after cutting out 8 Turning Twenty quilts from them. They just seem to multiply. If I've added right, I'm now down 21 yards of fabric for the backing of the quilts I've done this month -- mainly backs. Now to bind all of them. But I'm enjoying using the Bailey mid-arm again after almost a year of not quilting on her.

Leta, my guess when I looked at this was they started with a 10" square layer cake. I was going to cut off 2" from 2 adjacent sides, then use 1.5" strips for the black separating portion, adding small black pieces to add enough length to the cut off layer cake strips to make a 10.5" unfinished square (10" finished). Then sash with 2.5" sashing. I think these measurements will give a good approximation of the proportions in the photo.
Great explanation, PPrincess...sorry Leta all I found was the photo and thought it perfect for your fabrics!

Anyone from Maine knows what I am talking about. I went to Mardens on Saturday. I had just come from a program with Barbara Binotto and her landscape quilts. Amazing, amazing. How does anyone come up with all that stuff. So of course I was all excited about doing this and doing that. I never go into Mardens without coming out with something that caught me eye........except this time. Hooray for me. 30 days and still on the wagon.

Sounds like everyone is doing a great job and kudos to OKsewglad on using stash to make those lovely quilts!
I successfully resisted Craftsy's sale, even though it meant foregoing those beautiful distressed muslin fat quarters-- not sure I'm happy about hat since I've been coveting them since they were first offered over a year ago.
