OK, here's my fall from grace, but I'm claiming my birthday exemption. I got a 20% off my entire purchase as a BD gift from my LQS plus a free FQ. I'm hosting a quilt retreat at my cottage next week (just my girlfriend and me) and I recently found a die for a Joseph's Coat block. The die's been discontinued by sizzix, but found one on ebay. I don't have any pinks/spring color batiks, so I splurged on this layer cake. I'm going to cut the whole thing up for my retreat project. The green was on the markdown table and with my additional discount, a great bargain, however, I don't have a specific project in mind, so this is one I should have left on the bolt. But I love it. Makes me think of looking thru the leaves on a tree.

Love reading all the ups and downs on this thread. So far I haven't purchased anything except the yard for the Feb. swap. This month I've used just 4 yards from my stash as I've been working on UFOs. That puts me 37 yards down so far this year. Only 1500 (approx) yards to go!

I am so close to falling off the bandwagon here.
MDG has their tone-on-tone bundles back.....white on white and white on cream.
I use them in everything it seems.....

Happy Birthday Paperprincess! Looks like you got some good deals.
redstilettos--I have the same dilemma, but since I've only made one non-art quilt this year I've been able to resist. I've got lots of lights from the various fabrics I've been given and though they are not quilting cotton, they are useful in art quilts.
I did run by Joann's today looking for fabric medium for a project I'm getting ready to start, but they didn't have any-- I was very good, I didn't look at any fabric, in fact I walked out of there without spending anything, mainly because I couldn't find their remnant bin

At least with all this holding back of buying when we so seem to enjoy it, everyone is still keeping their sense of humor. Good one Rob, guess that was for the best.

Happy Birthday, PaperPrincess. Enjoy the bounty.
Good job on the self control, Rob. I've done the same - walk out without a purchase - something unheard of a few years ago.

Another baby quilt top made from stash. It measures 40" by 60" and will be given to a charity to finish. Curved pieces were a new skill. The block with the pink and green was the second block and I did much better with those curves.
The square print blocks were cut from donated fabric just given to me last week. I still have more of that fabric but it is in my 'use it up and don't put it in my stash' group along with a few other pieces that were with it of different patterns and colors. Lol!

Great way to use up fabric and do a good thing for the community, Connie. I think that curved seams are like everything else - the more you do them the easier they get.
