These are going to be some great looking quilts. Our high today was 73. It's now 56. Saturday we are expecting sleet and snow with temperatures from high of 38 to low of 26. Gotta love this Arkansas weather! I bet it would make a colorful quilt. haha

I love this idea. Originally I planned to keep track of high and low temperatures, but then decided I would be overwhelmed at the end of the year with 365 blocks. I decided to make 2 1/2" unfinished HSTs in a zigzag pattern with highs the top triangle and lows on the bottom. Then i added a 3/4" finished strip on the bottom depicting the weather (snow, rain, sun, partly sunny, etc.)
I have temp increments in 5 degrees, ranging from 0 degrees to 100 degrees, starting with blue (3 shades from dark to light), green. yellow, orange, red. If it goes over 100, I'll use red/orange/yellow flames. That's possible in my Chicago area home.
I have Jan. and Feb. sewn together and March blocks ready to sew together. I took a picture, but am unable to download it from my camera.

Have fun with it. I'm becoming obsessed every morning with getting temps for previous day, so I learn what colors I'll be using.
I had higher temps in Feb. than I've had so far in March. I've only had 3 days with just a trace of snow overnight, though 2-4" is expected overnight until tomorrow night.

Fourth round completed. It is getting trickier to plan the size and shapes to come. I have no idea what size this is going to get to. I am enjoying the randomness. Purple is 60 degrees, and the lone red is 70.
