I so fell off the wagon this last month: I went to a quilters garage sell 2 weeks ago. I spent about $75.00. I found 2 panels to make 2 throw quilts. Lots of 4" squares to make at least 3 throws. 20 s f-q's for $1.00 each, a jelly roll, a large selection of fake flowers for $4.00 and a few other fabric selection. Then the same week I went to my LQS and supported them and bought fabric to match a soon to be king size quilt (8 pieces of fabric) all at 25% off. So I think I'm done buying until my birthday exemption (which I plan to go crazy using). I like to buy row by row kits from the mail after the end of the season. Which is legal.
In 2 weeks, I will be going on a retreat close by and hopefully finishing several quilt tops and starting a new project. I'm so excited. 12-18 hours of sewing, sewing and more sewing and meeting new people. It's out in the boondocks and 15 minutes to closest LQS. No animals, hubby, house cleaning, cooking, etc to distract me. Just sewing, sewing and more sewing. So I should be able to finish a few projects.
Happy sewing and quilting everyone.

My, my, Happylab, I think you already used that upcoming birthday exemption. You really fell off the moratorium wagon big time! Maybe the retreat exemption can be saved, though, if you are really careful!!

I didn't use my birthday exemption or any other this year, but I'm feeling a strong attraction to a group of fabrics by Moda. I've sat on it several weeks, but the pull remains strong. If I purchase it, I will use it soon. I have an impinged tendon in my shoulder, so I'm not doing large things now, which gives me time to cut and sew small pieces. Quilting the king size quilt has to wait.

I pulled out a strip quilt I started over 11 years ago. Had 2 blocks to finish. Have setting triangles cut and now cutting strips and borders. Even have the backing for this. I might be able to find binding in stash, too. Have one strip set sewn...there are four...just to see what it looks like!

You all are doing so good with using your stashes.... Before my trip, I did a quick inventory of fabric because I knew I would be using a travel exemption.....I only needed gray for my next quilt and that was all the fabric I bought when I went to the shop. I did buy 2 patterns, tho.... But all was good and I'm proud of myself despite my hubbie pointing out all the polka dots again. Lol...
Battle Axe..... Keeping good thoughts for you and your health concern.

Been feeling guilty about the travel exemption I used, didn't need to get that much. So, please forgive me & help me back up on the wagon.
This is about a victory. Went to a class sponsored by guild and used ~25 y/o 30's prints. It was loads of fun. When it's finished, may have enough fabric to do another. Retreat coming in 2 weeks so can finish these.

Pet, No need to feel guilty. Just climb back aboard the wagon and donate your next exemption to someone who is desperate to buy something to finish a project. Or, maybe you can do some of those push-ups.
