Very pretty swoon Judith! Your persistence has paid off. That backing fabric is beautiful!

Thanks for the compliments Dedemac, yes, I have a tub labeled Good Fortune and it is filled with fabric. I bought the bundle from Quilted Twins. I won't use one of the blues, but I have a replacement that is just a little off.

I'm trying to get Hanging Gardens done. I had everything in tubs and properly labeled. Went nuts after I got a Brother P-touch labeler.

I find that I have done some work on all these UFOs. But I come to the same stopping place when I try to finish it maybe 3 years later. Sometimes it seems to be an ambiguity in the instructions. I wonder if they would hire me to write better instructions??????

For example: This pattern Hanging Gardens has me cut 4 different sized triangles. But it does not designate a label for each one. Then it says sew "the" triangle to the 4 patch. What triangle? It said that the triangle will appear to be too big, BUT just cut it off. Good Grief! What kind of language is that?

Donna Jordan has a video on that pattern, but the computer is down stairs and my quilting things are upstairs. I just loose it climbing those stairs.

Now it's stopped snowing so I'll give it another try.

I finally finished the castle quilt. Started in 2016 and finished in 2018... trying to clean out and finish several UFOs before Good Fortune starts on Friday.

Here is the hanging gardens that I am struggling with. I did get all the blocks done and the hangers too. Now to figure out the setting triangles. This is done in batiks except for the 2 block hangers and the background.

I have forbidden myself to getting up on the step stool to pin at the top. Just too dizzy.

Battle Axe, I’m also working on a version of Hanging Gardens. I’ve got all my blocks together in strips, and sewn all the strips together. It’s quilted & backed, but I’ve stalled out on the binding. That’s my least favorite part. Your blocks look great!

all other finishes for the year are a great inspiration for me. I don’t want to have UFOs, so I read this thread to keep me on track. Thanks for all the finishes & tales of how long some have taken to complete. I appreciate all the work that goes into the finishes we’ve seen.

Adorable castle quilt. Love how you used the panel.

Battleaxe, love those blocks. That quilt is going to be very graphic with the black and white. I can't wait to see the finished top.

I kind of fell off the thread for a while, but I've been busily quilting away. My summer was very productive, with 10 quilts finished. I don't think many of them were actually UFOs at the beginning of the year, although most had reached UFO status (in my reckoning) by the time I got to them. Trying to figure out what I've already posted here, but I think these are new since my last post.
The first one is my PEI Modern Guild mystery. I actually made two, and this is the second one that I finally quilted.

These next two are my Bonnie Hunter mysteries "Christmas on Ringo Lake" and "Return to Ringo Lake". The first is mine to keep - follows Bonnie's layout although I made a slightly smaller version. And the second one is for donation, using the rest of my blocks and a slightly different layout.

Krista, I really like your finishes, especially the second Ringo Lake. The white squares seem to make the pattern pop more to me.
I prevented the formation of some UFOs yesterday. I started some placemats in Sept that are double sided, with Halloween fabric on one side & a burnt orange on the other. I got 4.5 quilted then they languished for a few weeks. This week I decided they really needed to be finished so we could use them for this weekend. I got the quilting finished plus put binding on all 6. Yay! We used them last night & will do so all through this weekend.
