Quiltermomma.....that 365 is a monster so I totally get it. Will make a cute mini. I'm still working on the SBS and have 82 out of the 140 completed. Worked on the applique blocks today, which I Love to do. Also, began preparing the applique pieces for the border for this project. This quilt will be my largest project to date.... I'm in it to win it!!!

    Default March UFO Completed

    Rocky makes a great mascot!
I have finished the quilt I made from my mom's cut pieces. This is the quilt that matches the 2 pillows I made for my daughters. Mom had cut about 50 diamond shapes from 4 fabrics, all in a purple theme. She died in May 2005, and her health was failing during that spring, so I'm sure she cut these prior to Feb. 2005, making these pieces 13+ years old. There was enough flowered fabric and light purple for me to cut pieces to make a total of 18 blocks. I did have to buy the pale purple which I used as the outer pieces of each block, the backing, and the binding. I pieced extra batting in each diamond shape to make them stand out some. Mom's shapes didn't have exact angles, so they didn't fit perfectly, but I left them as is because she cut them that way. The quilt is about 48 inches square and I'll think of Mom every time I look at it.

Conchalea, I think this needs to be your sofa snuggle quilt for cool nights in Texas. My SIL loves the simple quilt made for her from her dad's shirts...so meaningful to you, too.

OKsewglad, you are right about it being meaningful. It’ll probably be on my couch & have cats snuggling with me & it.

Conchalea, Such an amazing quilt. I started quilting about a year after my mother passed away. I wish I had kept some of her clothes to make a memory quilt. Enjoy your mom’s quilt and all the precious memories it will bring to you.

That looks like a wonderful snuggle quilt Conchalea!

Dedemac- I like both of those that you posted in the last few days... good going working on them both!

Glad Rocky decided to be our mascot!

I'm running behind on getting to a UFO this month because I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a Sweet Sixteen!!! It's used and fit my budget, has all the accessories I wanted and none that I didn't and best of all, it's only an hour and a half away, so we're off to pick it up tomorrow! So yesterday and today I've been making space for it in my studio.
