Very cute block Duckling. I attached my 2nd block again for you. ☺

Maybe you like the background ovals on the first block partly because in the second block your white calico fabric is competing with the background ovals (which are also white)? The darker points in the second block contrast nice. But I think I still prefer the first one. :-) ...You only have to satisfy yourself. :-)

Here's my two February blocks! Not a lot of contrast between the red star points and the brown background for my red/turquoise/brown top, but I like it well enough so that I don't feel like I have to correct it, it's okay. I like how the other block turned out better.

Yes, that's a big factor. The new neutral also makes the block look more cluttered. But I'm happy enough not to try a third time.

Joe’smom, I like your redo of your January block...great fabric choice.
Givio and Sharon, wonderful completed blocks. I love perusing this thread to see the variety of fabric choices.

Here are my Two blocks. I am keeping with the same palate as I chose for the Quilting Life BOM (Creekside) in case I want to use them in the same quilt at some point,

    Your blocks look great, jmoore!
Good idea, combining two sets of BOM blocks for a bigger quilt.
