Here are the February blocks from my friend, Julie. Like a lot of us, she's having a hard decision on what fabric to use for the fussy cutting on the March block. She recently found a stash of fabric on the cheap, so she has some new fabrics to look through that might help her. Plus, after seeing my March blocks veering off from the proposed pattern, she got ideas about doing the pattern a little differently too. It's her first BOM. She thought she had to do all the blocks as directed. I said to her-- "Why?" lol

That's right... not like we are turning them in for a grade! She can make them any way she wants. Julie's star blocks are pretty.

Thanks for the encouragement. I was beginning to feel like a D student on this March block rather than having fun. It is so good to see the variety of outcomes with the same "assignment" and that keeps me motivated to learn new things.

Duckling, Wow! That's dramatic! I have crocuses blooming in the back yard and the hyacinth and daffodils will be next, and that's when the early tulips will be popping up too.

Yes, your second block will blend better with your other blocks. I like that one better for how it will mix with the first two in your top.

But there's nothing wrong with the darker block. It's very nice.

Great blocks, Duckling! I have to say I love the first one best. It has such a pretty center.

Beautiful, Duckling! Both fabric choices are perfect for this block.
