Finally, another UFO finish. It's twin size around 72 X 72, so it will be nice to cuddle under during winter ( or whatever cold spell we might get here in Arizona ). Of course, one of my daughters or grandkids might claim it before then.

I am making progress! Finished two UFO tops this week and layered them for quilting yesterday. Baby steps toward the goal of quilting finishes! Hoping to post photos this week!

Beautiful finish, @Sync I love the colors.

I made some progress today. As with many of my projects, a lot of start and stop. I finished all the blocks I’d planned to make for a QAYG lap quilt. I played with its layout and it’s just way too small. It’s a scrappy number and the blocks used up the last of most the fabrics in it. I realized I’m going to want to do borders to add size, peeked at my stash and didn’t see anything to suit. I packed those blocks up and tucked them away to tackle that issue another day.

I then re-sandwiched one of my UFOs and pinned that puppy down. Planning to start quilting it up with week. It’s a Christmas flannel quilt.

Default My too small QAYG top

This top was completely thrown together from stash fabrics and I don’t have much of any of
them left. I’m now pondering what kind of borders to add to add a lot of size and coordinate with what’s already there with very little matching fabric left. These are 8.5” squares, so will finish at 8” (40” x 56”). I don’t particularly want to add sashing since that seems fiddly with the blocks already quilted. Open to suggestions if anyone has any.

Such lovely finished UFO’s and ufo wip.

    - I’m still working on putting binding on the king size quilt for my niece. I figure to give to her next weekend. I’ll post pic when I’m done. Then I will finish the traffic jam twin top and quilt. And give to my GN.

I'm late to the party and you may already have finished this WIP, but there seems to be a nice blue in many of the floral centre blocks - you could have a series of borders, depending on what you have in your stash. What about the background cream colour from those same blocks, a narrow pieced border of whatever leftovers you have of the fabrics in the pieced blocks, and then a wider border of something that is close to the blue. It wouldn't have to match exactly if it's separated from the quilt blocks by the other borders... You could also use a burnt orange like in the bows if you have that.

I haven’t finished, I set it aside to marinate! I was thinking about looking for some orange to play off the ribbons, in keeping with the retro color scheme. I do think a series of borders is the answer. I’m thinking about a cream border with inset diamonds or squares of the green and yellow I have left over from the blocks as one of the layers. Thank you for the recommendations! I will go to the stash blues and oranges and see what I have!
