Wow, Macybaby, you got the points on those heart really sharp. I love it. I can't get mine that sharp and I've already watched lots of videos. Great job!

Just a tip if anyone is needle turning - i found if I starched my fabric before marking it to cut it made it a little easier.

dd- I back stitch when I get to the points. that helps hold the tucked in fabric much better and keeps the points nicer.

I only do this for about 1/4", so maybe 3-4 stitches. I also pull my needle up to the top and then go down and into the fabric and pull it directly to the back side. This also pins the fabric down better than doing a running stitch like I do for the rest of the piece.

I've also learned to fold over the "other side" when doing an inside corner, and getting it nice and then unfolding the other side and doing a few back stitches to make sure it's good and secure, and then moving to the forward running stitch.

Finished my block #4 and have started on #29. Yeah, that's still the glue on the fabric cuz I glue my papers to the top of the pieces. Works for me.

dd - I thought you said your points weren't turning out nice - they sure look good to me! I like the idea of gluing the pieces to the top. Glue is one thing I never think of using, and I probably should more often as it's a great tool.

    Great DD! I love it!

I have five blocks now cut and fused and I've started the satin stitching. I'll post photos when they are done. Wow-ee this project in intense but I'm enjoying the challenge!

Some of my points turned out really good and some, like on the 2 color hearts, were more rounded than pointed. Just need to keep practicing. Maybe one day I'll get to Carnegie Hall! lol Sorry, it was funny in my head.

A lot of my satin stitching is on hold while I wait for a few new colors of thread to be delivered, but I did have a question. I'm using tear away stabilizer. Should I tear away the excess outside of the satin stitching when done or leave it and stitch it into the quilt?

I would tear it away, if I can. I think it would make the quilt stiff. I always try to tear away as much as I can.
