DD- that is nice! I'm still trying different ways to get my pieces lined up correctly. I'm finding that with the petals, I have to start at the "V" no matter how I pin, if I start on the bottom, my "top" won't be in the right spot when I get to it!

Time to get off the computer and pick up the needle. I've got my little stand set up right behind me.

Thanks guys, this is so much fun. My husband was away all last week so I had plenty of time to sew. Sure didn't want to go outside with the weather the way it was and is. I have been using a washable glue stick to hold my pieces down. No pins for the thread to get stuck on. I have some overhead projector film. I trace the design from the book, actually just 1/4 of it. I iron the half marks and diagonal marks on my square then I can line up the clear pattern on the fold marks. I slide my applique piece under the clear film, press with finger and it stays right there. I can always slide my needle under to release the glue if I need to. This has been working for me.

I think I'll add "washable glue stick" to my list.

I think I've got a back of film like that too -

But that gives me another idea - using an old overhead projector as a tracing stand. Darn - where I work dumped a bunch of them last year (no one wanted them) and that would work great. I'm going to ask if we might have a few more to get rid of. We're converting all the classrooms to Promethean boards, so we may have more come available in the future.

got the stitching done on #29. I've got one completely done and three that need embroidery. So I'm not too far behind! And the "perfect circles" turned out very nice.

Your #29 blocks are so pretty. I am really looking forward to working on that one.
February has been a crazy month and I haven't been working on my blocks at all. Hopefully next week I will be able to get back to it. It is great working on this all together and seeing everyone's progress. It will insure that my work doesn't get put away and forgotten and keeps me inspired.

I sent that picture to my 30 year old DD. Her response "Who is that one for? "

I said I was keeping it. It's so much hand work that I may never do another like it

You should keep it Macy! I'm planning on keeping mine also - I've given away all of my quilts so far except for a couple wall hanging quilts. This year I'm planning on finishing several for me.

Sounds like the same conversation I had with my sister. She said I should have it on my coffin. I told her under my urn. Wrong thing to say. She went off about being cremated. Oh, well, it's beautiful Macybaby.

DH just cancelled our plans for tomorrow (dinner with friends) because he is sick. Should I feel guilty that I'm relieved to have more quilting time??? I may get a couple blocks done tomorrow!
