I got involved in a scrappy mystery done by Paint me Judy here on the board. Alas its called the Magpie syndrome, even though I'm retired and have almost unlimited time, I'm very easily distracted. Still excited about the project and love seeing the beautiful work you guys do. So hope you guys don't mind me hanging on to the fringes.

I also get easily distracted - did 80 6" cat blocks weekend. However I did work on my applique block a bit, I'm still working on #5 and have one heart and the center circle to sew on.

For fun - here are the 80 cats, I cut them all out last fall, and now they'll go back in the UFO area for a while.

Please don't let your wonderful cats languish for very long in your UFO pile!

Did I mention how much I love Cat Quilts? Looking forward to seeing your quilt when it's finished.

I'm working on block #6 and I don't like how it's turning out. I think I'm going to stop, cut my losses and start on another one. I think I'm going to have to redo #6 but not right now. I might come back later and think it looks good enough to keep but not right now.

I've decided to hop around - I'm way more eager to work on them having looked over the blocks and said "this one" instead of looking at the "next one" and thinking "no way . . ."

I'm working on #9 currently, and it's going very fast.

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I got roped into a couple non AoTH projects (i.e. medieval surcoats for my Dagorhir group). The good(ish) news is that the embroidery thread that was supposed to come today didn't - they sent me the wrong stuff (!!!) which means my embroidery machine is free for AoTH until the right stuff shows up. Hope to have a block finish tonight.

Here is my #9 - started it this AM and got it all done in a day - this one was fun and easy.

DH is also doing some hand sewing, so we've been sitting/stitching together. Makes it easy when you've got someone to talk to while doing it. He made his first ever quilt block, and it's for a "potholder" quilt so he was hand stitching the binding to the back. I'm real proud of him- even though he may never make another as quilting isn't "his" thing.

Now I get to pick out another and then select fabric. That's the part I like the best.

I started "un-sewing" my block #6. I only had to take off half the pieces so figured it was better than starting over. Hopefully I can get them on better this time.lol
