Finished #6 Tuesday. I didn't have the purple centers cut right so I had to go back and redo a bunch of pieces. Decided not to start over like I said I was. Finished now and I like it.

DD - I really like that block. When I look at the pictures, #6 catches my eye, but so far I've not felt confident enough to try it.

my plans this weekend include a lot of sewing - unfortunately not quilt related sewing. But once I get the set of vestments done, I'll have another major item off my "to do" list.

DD - your block 6 came out beautifully. Love the colors. It will be a while before I tackle that block.

I took some "me" time the last couple of nights, here are my most recent two blocks. Satin stitching all finished, now just need an evening to do the embroidery.

I really want to join in, but I am stumped as far as color scheme. I like the black background, but I also love burgundy or deep sapphire blue.

One thing I am really thinking about doing is using all Fairy Frost fabric for the applique pieces... maybe against a black background, it would really shimmer. I am concerned about having enough variety in my blocks though - has anyone ever seen an applique project in Fairy Frost? How did it look?

wholeheart mom - if you go back to the start, you'll see a group of blocks I did with beige background and green based fabrics. I think I used four of five different fabrics for ALL the blocks, and really like how it turned out.

I have the gold background set (gold is fairy frost) and that one is also very limited in fabric selection. I actually prefer them with a bit less "variety" than used in the book.

I know fairy frost comes in a lot of colors, so I would think you'd have no problem using them on black.

Here are some of the green/beige set - I should get them out and take a pic of them all together - that set is finished

And the fabric for the gold set - they are all fused, but I have only machine stitched a few of them.

Now I'm on to the black background hand applique set - which is taking way longer .

Why three - because I could not make up my mind!

Here's my next block (block 7). Time to start working on some trickier blocks, so number 1 is next.

Is everyone else working on their 10th block? I thought I was 1 block ahead until I looked at the first page and it said we should be on our 10th block this week. Just got my fabric pulled for 10th block today. Finished block #8 last night. We had a sewing day at a friends on Sat. Got a lot finished there. Then there is a pic of the 1st 9 I have finished all together.
