Akk, I hate the mess of remodeling!! And the sheetrock plaster dust Never goes away.

I'm wondering if she will have us take those 3.5 X 7.5 bricks and cut them down for something, maybe use the balance for strings or another block

Yes, you can do it... you just can't do it quickly. Take your time and pace yourself. They are really cute when done.

Here is a picture of my second set of units. I thought this would be a good way to use some of those fabrics that I've had in my stash for way too long and still can't think of what I'd like to do with them. I paid no attention to color, and I pulled about 10-12 yards of fat quarter to half yard pieces. There is an angler/creel print, a couple of horse prints, a couple of cherry prints, some Halloween monster eyes, an ocean scene, a part of a dollhouse panel, and some others that don't seem to go with anything else. How great it is to finally have these pieces off my shelves and going into a quilt.

The fabrics are not coordinated, and the values aren't coming out the best, but I wanted to use up these fabrics. To compensate for the mismatched fabrics, I reduced the size of the pieces. The square units are 2.75 inches instead of 3.5 inches, and the rectangle units are 2.75 x 3.5 inches rather than 3.5 x 4.5 inches.

I am far from being caught up, but I'm having so much fun with this. My sewing area is covered with pieces.

"Walk Away the Pounds, Ultimate WALK Collection 5-Day Express, 2 dvd collection". There's a 15 minute "you can do pilates" and three 19-20 minute walks which is what I'll start with. I've seen Leslie Sansome before, but haven't used these dvds yet. Let me know if you get the dvds, too! I think I was either in Wal-Mart or Target when I found the DVD.

I have her Walk if OFF in 30 Days. It has 2 workouts - 1 just walking and 1 with weights. I like it!
The funny thing with mine is the tv screen stretches her out and she looks about 30 lbs over weight. I'm pretty sure she is actually small person.

Pretty picture, Splinter! It seems quite possible you have that part of the layout right!

Ok, thanks Pam and Cindy! It's either get moving or buy bigger clothes at this point - and moving will be the healthier choice. Did I just make a New Year's resolution? LOL

I have finished sewing clue 5, but need to press the 4 patches and trim some of my clue 4 units too. But the holiday gives me a couple of extra sewing days so no worries... Although I may have to take some time Saturday for a $3 per yard sale at one of my not-so-local quilt shops!

Audsgirl your colors are amazing! And I actually have that same white fabric with the black flourishes.

Tweety - I really like the contrast between your greys & whites... kind of wishing now I would have stuck to more "white" neutrals.

Splinter - your pinks & greens look great! Can't wait to see the blocks go together.

I agree with those who think we'll probably sew another flippy corner to the big logs - or maybe 3 flippy corners so they are on all sides... and then maybe cut them the long way... there might be enough for sashing if they're cut in half.

Tomorrow we'll be one step closer to solving the mystery!
