Allietare! - Bonnie Hunter's 2015 Mystery Quilt

SunlitenSmiles, Thank you so much for answering my questions about using the black backing on GIMQ! :-) I've always used the same thread for top and bobbin so you gave me something to think about. I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I'm happy to say I have a new granddaughter!!
Everyone's fabrics look so good. I usually go very scrappy but thought I would stick with single fabrics this year except for the neutrals. I'm using the green instead of the gray.

sewplease, those fabrics are so beautiful; they are just what pictures of Tuscany look like. I can't wait to see your version of the quilt. Congratulations on your granddaughter!
Bonnie's Italian Renaissance palette is growing on my each day. I may have to abandon my idea of replacing black with dark greens. If I do use black, it will be a constant black, as I have 3 yds. of this leaf print on hand and don't want to buy blacks at this late hour. I guess what I'll do is make a few units of each and see which I prefer. Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US!

Joe'sMom I like the black better also. I love the black fabric you selected. Sewplease, I love your fabrics and I like the idea of having only the neutrals scrappy. I think it is going to be a beautiful quilt.

For the first-timers who have perhaps worked some simplistic mysteries, Bonnie keeps the mystery going as long as possible. You may be cutting border components this first week, but you won't know it until the reveal The next two clues may have us doing things like 400 1/2 square triangles without a clue why you are doing it. So don't expect to see a block emerging until late clues, and there are usually several blocks, so don't assume you've "got it" until very late in the game
SewBizGirl, I'm inclined to say not she won't jump the gun on Friday's clue release...but you never know.
I don't remember which year it was but she jumped the gun on the reveal, much sooner than we expected...left us thinking, Holy Cow, why couldn't I see that!
Whatever we are required to do, it will make better quilters out of us.
