Roasted Chestnut Gold 3002-3A chip--closest to Saffron #9900-232 and Mustard #9900-213
Afternoon Tea Gold 3002-3B chip----closest to Goldenrod #9900-81
Winter Flannel Grey 4007-1C chip---closest to Steel #9900-184 and Platinum #9900-219
Autumn Fog Grey 4007-1B chip----closest to Bunny Hill Blue #9900-176
Divine Cream Neutral 7006-8 chip-----closest to Porcelain #9900-182
Italian Ice Neutral 7005-10 chip----closest to Ruby Ice #9900-169 and Breeze #9900-132
The Italian Ice chip was the surprise one to me, it is actually a VERY pale light blue/green--not a cream, tan, light gray neutral at all. There is not a great Bella match to it, but the palest blue or green you can find is the closest thing to it.

CAVEAT: everyone sees colors differently! None of the color chips are what I would call an exact match to any Bella swatch, but these are my best guesses based on my eyesight!!

    Hope that helps everyone.
    Thanks so much!!

Oh - it would be so fun to do this.
Does anyone know if a place is selling kits for this project?

Just get the paint chips and go shopping, either from stash or at the store. That's part of the fun. I shopped my stash first and found most of what I needed. Shopped the fabric store over the weekend and today and now have all my fabric. I just love looking at all the colors and trying to imagine how the quilt will come together.

Just got my paint chips yesterday. Was so anxious to see what I had here at home to come close. I didn't find much that came close until I pulled my Christmas fabrics. Lots of that burgundy with splash's of the yellows. Then pulled those yellows. But, I'm so glad others have talked about substituting greens - that is the other secondary color in these burgundy Christmas fabrics. NOW - do I have the courage to do this?

Karen, you might check with some of your local quilt shops. There are many of them that put together a section of bolts of fabric that coordinate with the mystery quilt colors for their customers. Or, maybe, post a comment on Bonnie's facebook group (Quiltville's Open Studio) asking if anyone knows of a shop that is doing this. I'm sure those folks will know.

Oh well, will just have to do a little more shopping. In my neutrals, I am using some very pale grays rather than all creams or tans because I think they will play better with the other colors. But who knows???
    Really nice!

I want to join in, and have a question. I went to the BH blog and read the fabric requirements and am I right in reading that I will need 5 1/2 yards of Neutrals?
Love how some of you have posted your fabrics, gives me ideas for mine and really does help.

I kind of wondered about the same thing. I was a lurker during the GI last year and wondered if all (most) of the fabric was used making the quilt? This year's mystery is about 82 x 96 and works out to less than 6 square yards. The fabric requirements (unless I really read them wrong) totals over 14 yards. I guess it just seems...excessive.

Does anyone from last year know if the yardage is accurate or did you have a lot left over??

I have been sidelined with a bad back, and may not be doing any sewing for awhile. But I hope to be able to at least keep track of this thread, and see what everyone is doing.
