Great progress everyone. Absolutely love every single color variation.

I'm back to tumblers today. After Rob retired he has taken over the cooking. Am I a lucky girl or what??
I do all the clean up and will happily do that to end of days, if I don't have to cook

    Back to tumblers today.

I was thrilled to see the paint chip neutrals to be on the lighter end. I have quite a bit of white on whites and very light neutrals left from my Dear Jane quilt. I've outgrown that by miles My variety is larger than the image shows though!

there are no strings bigger than 3/4"-ish or chunks bigger than 1-1/2" square in my ort jar.

I cut my strips at 2 and 1/4 inches, then squared my 4 patch at 3 and 1/2 inches. If you're having trouble, you might try this.

Hi Sandra, I like to do as little trimming as possible (none!) so I cut my pieces to the exact size called for, then test sew one pair/set. If the size isn't perfect, I increase or decrease my seam allowance width. Can't go wrong with that!

Kalama, you are so quick! I can see what an ort jar is (for scraps) but why "ort"? What's "ort"? An acronym for something? Your blocks are so pretty.

Ort is a German word meaning scrap or remainder. Of food originally, but we feed our soul and psyche with fabric and thread don't we.

Everyone's 4patches look so good. Even the "less scrappy" quilts will turn in to beautiful quilts!

Interesting thought on the black & white strings... I've never done strings... wonder where they will end up in relation to the rest of the blocks.

Kalama I like that you can see the colors of this quilt in you ort jar! Also I see you joined up two different fabrics in that one four patch, I had one What would Bonnie Do moments also in a neutral in step #2. I't fun to take a step out like that.

Got my Clue 2 blocks done today-- my Santa Hats! They are a bit fiddly but I like them. Glad I'm done now and can start playing with my golds. I'll get caught up before the 4th clue on Friday.

I took the above photo without flash, so my Santa Hats' 'fur' looks really yellow. They aren't....
